Tracking Santa

Posted by Vicci on Dec 24, 2007 in Celebrate

Know how to get you kid to bed early? Track Santa with Google Earth. Around nine thirty, we realized Santa was in Japan. I don’t think I’ve ever seen B move that fast. He quickly brushed his teeth & hopped in bed since Santa was so close.

Ok it’s ten fifteen, Santa skipped to Korea. He hasn’t hit lower Japan. Hmmm. Maybe B was really that bad this year.

Maybe he is just so fast that I missed him when I blinked.

Baking Tons of Christmas Goodies.

Posted by Vicci on Dec 24, 2007 in Celebrate

There just something about this year. Maybe it’s I’m actually in my own house for a change. I’ve spent two days baking goodies; pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, peppermint bark, peppermint tarts, cookies, fudge, brownies, rum balls; just to name a few. I even picked up a Japanese Christmas cake. Japanese people celebrate with a Christmas day with a special cake.

Christmas here is more like Valentines Day in the US where they exchange gifts with loved ones. They also do good deeds for more unfortunate people. The Christmas chicken (instead of turkey) is also very popular. Their major holiday is New Years Day.

Spending Other Peoples Money

Posted by Vicci on Dec 15, 2007 in Babbling On

Who doesn’t love shopping. Spending money can be lots of fun. I woke up to find that I spent over $1000 in Paris this weekend. I tried to think really hard, but nope I wasn’t in France. I think I would remember that. At least I hope I would.

My wonderful bank had canceled my check card then shot me a email about the strange charges. Good thing I wasn’t out shopping when I realized this. I called to verify the charges and got it all put back into my account. I’m still trying to figure out how they got my card number.

Just A Little Crazy

Posted by Vicci on Dec 10, 2007 in Babbling On

Just a really brief update. Things have been crazy around here. It’s just been non-stop stuff. J left to go to Bangladesh to help with the hurricane relief; he is back now. I’m been working on finishing up my classes. B has lots of football, school activities, and dentists appts (We are there every week, not kidding). The holidays are typically busy. We have 3 unit Xmas parties to go to, plus all the other events. I just need to stop & take a break.
