Back To School

B & I are both back to homework. I’m so glad that B is the type of kid that is easy going. I never have any problems getting him up in the mornings. Usually he is up & ready before my alarm goes off. He enjoys going to school everyday & 99% of the time has a good day. Getting homework done is never a problem. Seeing me doing homework helps shows him that it is important. I hope as he gets older he stays excited with learning.

Ever Dig For Satsumaimo?

The first field trip of the year; B’s class went to a small patch of a garden to dig for sweet potatoes. They say Japanese sweet potatoes are sweeter than ones in the US. We will see because B picked a huge plastic bag full. All the kids had a tons of fun playing in the dirt. What kid doesn’t like getting dirty? It looked like they had all just went Trick or Treating. I hope everyone likes sweet potatoes, because it’s what I’m making for our unit Thanksgiving dinner.

I’m Camera Less On The 1st Day Of School.

What is a cameraholic suppose to do? Never mind me; I’m just having withdraw symptoms. His first day of second grade and I can’t capture every minute of it. Well, at least; the before & after part. I sent my camera off for a full bath & J took his on vacation to Guam. I say vacation because he gets to stay for a week in a 5 star hotel on the most tropical of beaches. I tried to get him to pack me (& B of course) instead of his gear. But I’m here & he’s there; It’s just NOT fair!

The first day of second day was great according to B. I was a little worried because of his teacher. I’ve heard good & bad things about her. She is non-married (very) older women & has no children; did I mention she is Japanese? On our first encounter with her, she corrected B two times. I’m thinking she is going to be very rigid (battleaxe), only time will tell. B knows most of the kids in his class. His favorite thing about school here is the two recesses. I guess I would have thought that was awesome too. Well, we better get to work. B has homework on the first day. Yup, maybe she is a battleaxe. LOL

More College Classes Have Arrived

I hope this term goes better than the last one. The last one I did just sucked. I had so many problems with the teacher, class, & internet. I just about failed the class because of the teachers rules on retaking test. Well anyway, 2 months after the class ended, I got my grade. This term is not looking any better so far. One of my books, I was not able to get in time. I ordered it a month before the class started & here we are still no book. It’s a newly published book & they just don’t have it yet. I email them & they said 2-4 week more. Oh hell no. The term would be half over by then. I found the book somewhere else, but it will still take like 10 days or so to get it.
